Finding Your Way Around

Strawberry looks familiar because it is a full browser. But there are a few key areas you should know about.

Main Interface Overview

When you open Strawberry, you will see:
  • Tabs at the top—just like any browser
  • Address bar in the center for URLs and searches
  • Navigation buttons (back, forward, refresh) on the left
  • Sidebar on the right where your Companion lives
Everything works the way you expect from Chrome or Firefox. The difference is the sidebar.

Tabs and Browsing

Tabs work exactly like you are used to:
  • Click + to open a new tab
  • Click a tab to switch to it
  • Drag tabs to reorder them
  • Right-click a tab for options like close, duplicate, or pin
  • Use Cmd+T (Mac) or Ctrl+T (Windows) to open a new tab quickly

The Sidebar

The sidebar is where the magic happens. This is home to your Companions, your chats, and your skills.

Opening and Closing

  • Click the sidebar icon in the toolbar, or
  • Press Cmd+E (Mac) or Ctrl+E (Windows)
This shortcut is worth memorizing. You will use it constantly.

What is in the Sidebar

  • Chat area where you talk to your Companion
  • Companion selector to switch between different Companions
  • Skills and workflows you can use
  • Recent chats to continue previous conversations

The New Tab Page

When you open a new tab, you will see the New Tab page. This is your home base:
  • Chat entry point to start a conversation without navigating anywhere
  • Companions you have created or saved
  • Recent chats to pick up where you left off
  • Skills for quick access to common tasks
You can start chatting right from the New Tab page—no need to be on a specific website first.

Settings, Preferences, and Credits

Access your settings through the profile menu in the top-right corner. Here you can:
  • Change your theme (light, dark, or system)
  • Set your default search engine
  • Manage your account and credits
  • Configure privacy options
  • Connect integrations with other tools
You can also just ask your Companion to open settings—it will take you there.

Credits

Strawberry uses credits for AI interactions. You can see your credit balance in the profile menu. Different actions use different amounts of credits depending on complexity.

Customization

You can personalize Strawberry to fit how you work:
  • Sidebar position: Move it to the left if you prefer
  • Compact mode: For smaller screens
  • Keyboard shortcuts: Customize the key bindings
  • Startup behavior: Choose what happens when you open Strawberry
